INTRODUCTION

At the outset, we would like to introduce ourselves as one of the leading suppliers and the largest installer of flexible  Geomembrane  lining  systems  used  to  line  and  cap  sanitary  and  hazardous  waste  landfills,  to contain  materials  generated  in  certain  mining  processes  and  to  contain  liquids  (potable,  sanitary, wastewater and hazardous) and industrial products in ponds, tanks, pits, lagoons, reservoirs and canals. 

This  manual  reflects  the  requirements  of  the  Hazardous  and  Solid  Waste  Amendment  of  1984  to  the Resource  Conservation  and  Recovery  Act  (RCRA)  and  “Construction  Quality  Assurance  for  Hazardous Waste Land Disposal Facilities, Public Comment Draft.” Document EPA / 530-SW-86-031. July 1986.

GEOMEMBRANE INSTALLATION

The  subcontractor  shall  submit for the  Contractor’s  approval  a  detailed  drawing  clearly  defining the  total panel  layout,  all  primary  welds,  all  secondary  welds,  corner  arrangements,  weld  crossover,  offsets  and base to embankment weld locations. Any changes, deviations, tests, repairs and other construction data can  only  be  made  with  the  written  approval  of  the  Contractor  and  shall  be  fully  detailed  on  ‘As Constructed’ drawings.

ANCHOR TRENCH

The  Subcontractor  shall  excavate  and  backfill  the  anchor  trenches  and  carries  out  any  other  works required to install the liner. Clean sand can be used for anchor trench backfill and shall be compacted to 92% modified maximum dry density.  Care  shall  be  taken  it  backfilling  the  anchor  trench  to  ensure  the trench  has  not  been  softened  by  sanding  water  the  trench  wall  material  contains  no  rocks  etc.  Likely to damage or tear the liner, so to avoid excess tension or ‘bridging’ in the liner on cooling.

FIELD SEAMING

     This is an automatic sealing and done by hot wedge welding method .

TRIPPLE SEAL FUSION METHOD BY HAND SEALER

This  is  a  manual  method  by  using  an  rectangular  iron  fitted  with  heating  element.  This  is  a  hand  run machine for thin film up to 400 micron in  which three strips come over the surface of film which is run on the protective layer of PTFE cloth with an overlap of approximately 75mm.
